Blockbuster - Inspiring staff loyalty
Blockbuster was looking for a programme to engage employees by connecting with a cause. With our help, starting in 2003 it launched its national partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, which grants the wishes of seriously and terminally ill children and entertains them in hospital.
Through a series of fundraising initiatives, gala events and corporate endowments, Blockbuster has now raised over £2 million for Starlight. Since the partnership started, the number of seriously or terminally ill children helped by Starlight has risen more than five-fold to 250,000 a year.
At Blockbuster staff retention has improved by 24%. The programme received a BiTC Excellence Award.
